How do payments work on OpenSoul?

When requesting a call with an expert, you’ll be prompted to provide your credit card information. You’ll be charged at that time for the initial call amount based on the rate and duration scheduled. To send a message, go to your Calls page > Select the member/expert you’d like to send a message to > Click “Send a Message”. To reply to a message, simply go to your Account > Inbox > Type your message below and press enter. You send a message to experts to ask clarifying questions before requesting a call by going to their profile, and clicking on the little envelope icon that is part of the “Schedule a call” button. You can use the secure messaging service on Clarity to work out the details of your call request, fill in an expert before your call to save time during the call, or just convey any correspondence you feel necessary. How do I export my money?

When experts receive a payment for a completed call, we call that payment “Earned”. Each call they complete will include the deducted Clarity service fee. Our secure payment system supports payout through PayPal. Once the call has been completed, you will be able to see the amount you’ve earned. You can then export the money into your PayPal account two weeks following the transaction (we apologize for the delay, we’re working on making it better). To export your money, simply select Account > Money > Export to PayPal: Export to PayPal now (make sure to enter your email that corresponds with your PayPal account). After you export your money, you will be brought to the “Money” screen with a summary of Payments in Process and an email will be sent to you with the amount paid. How much should I charge for my advice?

Great question! We’re always trying to think of great ways to help you promote your expertise, but sometimes one of the most stressful things to do is to decide on a price for providing your advice. To get an idea of what other experts with similar knowledge are charging, you can search for comparable experts, or you can charge what you typically would for your billable time. We charge member seeking your advice by the minute, based upon your hourly charge. ​If you’re a new expert, we suggest you charge a little lower than your average rate to attract other members to make your first call requests. You can then raise your rate to bring the call volume down, if need be.  ←  Back

How do I donate my earnings?

Our mission is to have a positive impact on 1 billion people by 2020. Being able to help charities around the world is an important part of helping us achieve this goal. That’s why we allow experts to set a default charity in which to donate their proceeds to. To add a charity to your profile, simply go to Account > Edit Profile > Hourly Rate > Choose from drop-down or Add a New Charity. After you’ve done some paid calls, you can go to your Account > Money > Export to PayPal. Once you export the funds to your personal account, you can donate the amount earned to your charity, if you wish. Note that we do not pay the charity directly. You have to make that transaction after exporting the proceeds from your calls.  ←  Back

What is the OpenSoul service fee?

We charge experts a 15% service fee for every call completed. This amount is deducted from the total amount charged to the member. This service fee goes to the site’s operation, enables the platform we provide, and allows us to link you with amazing people from all over the world. ←  Back
